Pack your bags and goods because we’re hitting the trail!

The Oregon Trail! No, not really, but if you are a fan of video gaming and pop culture, you know I’m talking aboutheading out to the Pacific Northwest.  Portland, Oregon to be exact!  Known for its copious green spaces and meshing of cultures and arts, it’s no wonder this city is so laid back. It also happens to be the host city for this year’s #HealthyTeen23, Take Care and Take Action!

In the spirit of taking care, here are a few things to see and do while in Portland! We’ll hashtag it, #SelfCare.

Let’s start with our awesome host hotel,  Hilton Portland Downtown! Located in central downtown, the Hilton is near several  must-see attractions, such as the Portland Art Museum, Pioneer Courthouse Square, and Pioneer Place Mall.

Looking for more sights? The Pearl District’s cobblestone streets and loading docks give a glimpse of the past contrasted by adjacent to contemporary happenings. This chic neighborhood is full of galleries, cultural institutions, shops, and renowned eateries. Once considered Portland’s mecca of art, the Pearl District is a must visit neighborhood.

The Washington Park’s International Rose Test Garden and Lan Su Garden are a visual feast!

With more than 610 different rose varieties, the International Rose Test Garden is open daily from May to October. This attraction is a testing ground for new rose varieties.

Roses not your thing? How about a tranquil oasis where culture and botanical beauty is celebrated? Lan Su Garden is more than just a garden; It is also a glimpse at Asian American Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities.

Looking for an experience that is intrinsic to Portland but with a little thrill?  You’re in for a treat with the Portland Aerial Tram. Spanning 3330 feet, this 10-minute ride boasts spectacular views of the Willamette River and Valley, Mount Saints Helens, and Marquam Hill.  And while you’re there, be sure to check out the South Waterfront, home to quaint shopping and eats.

You know I can’t leave you without several recommendations for eats and sips.

Here are several restaurants sure to tickle your fancy.
