Mariam Delgado is a bright designer looking to make an impact in the sexual and reproductive health field! We were drawn to the work in her digital portfolio: she uses bold, modern fonts and engaging colors to create designs that stand out.
As Graphic Design Intern at Healthy Teen Network, Mariam has been utilizing her design skills to create conference shirt designs for #HealthyTeen22, and she’s also been working on our conference exhibit re-vamp before we head back to in-person conferences again!
Mariam was born and raised in the Dominican Republic and moved to New York to pursue her college studies. She is a recent graduate from The City College of New York with a bachelor’s degree in Digital Design. Taking a typography class made her fall in love with how strong a design can be by just choosing the right typeface and use of it.
As Graphic Design Intern at Healthy Teen Network, Mariam has been utilizing her design skills to create conference shirt designs for #HealthyTeen22, and she’s also been working on our conference exhibit re-vamp before we head back to in-person conferences again! She is most excited about giving her best to help others and further her design skills while accomplishing Healthy Teen Network’s mission. She is also excited to work on anything related to illustration and branding during her internship.

We asked Mariam what she wish she had learned in sex ed growing up but didn’t, and she shared, “there are still so many taboos regarding sexuality, and I want to be involved in helping break them with facts. Also, as women, we are still fighting for our reproductive rights, and I am an advocate for being the owner of our bodies, and nobody should tell us what to do with them.”
Mariam’s favorite fall activity is burning fall-scented candles at home and making pumpkin pancakes from Trader Joe’s. She also loves walking her dog during fall and seeing all the crunchy and color-changing leaves.
Welcome to the crew, Mariam!
