When you think about doing a condom demonstration to build the skills of young people, do any of the following words come to mind? Nervous, awkward, uncertain, job security, or just downright scary?

Maybe it’s because you’ve never been taught how to use a condom correctly, or because you are afraid parents might object, or that your lesson will be put on blast.

We know it’s difficult—and can be uncomfortable. But we assure you—it will get easier, especially when you have support and the right tools. Let’s pick up the demonstration model and a real condom and get to work!

After this session, participants will be able to:
  • Receive tips and tricks to build comfort with discussing condoms
  • Gain skills to conduct condom demonstrations
  • Build confidence when discussing ways that students can protect themselves
